Την Τρίτη 7 Μαρτίου 2023 στις 18:00, στο Αμφιθέατρο Χαντζινικολάου στην Πανεπιστημιούπολη Αρχαίος Ελαιώνας ο Δρ. Πολιτικός Μηχανικός Διαμαντίδης Δημήτριος καθηγητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο OTH Regensburg, Germany θα δώσει διάλεξη, στα πλαίσια του Προγράμματος Erasmus +, με θέμα:
« ASSESSMENT OF EXISTING STRUCTURES BASED ON RECENT CODE DEVELOPMENTS»
Abstract
Due to the social and economic need of utilizing existing infrastructure, damage assessment and safety evaluation of existing structures are worldwide of major concern. In fact, more than half of the budget spent for construction activities is related to assessment and retrofitting of aging structures and international code committees such as the Working Group 2 within the Eurocodes development and Task Group 3.1 within the fib are working on respective guidelines.
The methodological background and the recent developments in the aforementioned committees are presented in this lecture. They include updating based on new information, assessment based on satisfactory past performance, verification formats and safety acceptance criteria. The methods and standards are illustrated in case studies dealing with reinforced concrete structures. Adjusted partial factors for assessment are thereby derived and discussed.
Brief CV
Dimitris Diamantidis is professor of structural analysis since 1992 at the OTH Regensburg in Germany and a consulting engineer. He has a diploma and doctoral degree from the Technical University of Munich and working experience in Norway and in Italy. He is a member of the Eurocodes Project Team on assessment and of the fib Task Group 3.1 on safety of existing concrete structures.
