Stamatia Gavela is a Chemical Engineer (National Technical University of Athens, 2003). She completed her master’s studies (Science and Technology of Materials, 2006) and her doctoral studies (2009) at School of Chemical Engineers at National Technical University of Athens.
She is an assessor and expert of Hellenic Accreditation System for Bodies certifying building materials since 2013. She is teaching “Building Materials” Course at (a) Department of Civil Engineering of University of West Attica since 2019 and (b) Department of Civil Engineering Educators of School of Pedagogical & Technological Education since 2011. She was also teaching the same course at the Department of Civil Engineering of Athens University of Applied Sciences from 2016 to 2018.
Member of the Standing Committee of Technical Chamber of Greece for Quality Infrastructures since 2009. She participated as a researcher in 10 Research Projects in the area of Materials, in School of Chemical Engineers of National Technical University of Athens from 2003 to 2015. Member of the editorial board of two scientific journals: “Technical Annals” of Technical Chamber of Greece and Journal of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering.
Stamatia Gavela has 10 publications in scientific journals, 3 chapters in books and 30 publications in Proceedings of International Conferences.
She is member of Technical Chamber of Greece, of Greek Society of Experimental Mechanics of Materials and member of the Board of Directors of Greek Women’s Engineering Association.
